What’s new with Positive Peers

New app update, who dis?

Just kidding! 😀 You may have noticed we’ve had a little work done lately — gotta stay fresh, girl.

We’ve been hard at work for the last few months changing up some parts of the app based on feedback we received from the Positive Peers Community Advisory Board. The board is made up of a group of rock star app users who let us know when we’re crushing it — and when we need to get our $#!* together.

When we originally designed the Positive Peers app, we focused more on the health tracking feature, where you can keep an eye on your CD4 counts and viral loads, and keep track of things like your med schedule, exercise, and doctor’s appointments. And yeah, that’s great — don’t get us wrong. It’s a great tool to help you rock your treatment plan.

But it’s not what Positive Peers app users needed most.

Users told us that what makes the app valuable to them is the community support. You have access to dozens of young people living with HIV in one place. They all know what you’re going through, how you’re feeling, and have valuable advice.

So, we’ve switched some things up.

New app features

Positive Peers Home Screen updateYou’ll notice that we’ve redesigned the home screen. Now you won’t have your health information right up front — we’re keeping that in a section by itself so you can keep it as private as you want.

We’ve also added great little notification indicators on areas like the chat, blog, and community, so you’ll know when something new is waiting for you.

You’ll also see the new Chillout section. Sometimes life gets hard and you need a break. Right now, you’ll find a virtual vacay in there that’ll help you get your zen on. But stay tuned — we’re going to be adding some fun features there soon.

And we’ve got our What’s New section. That’s where we’ll keep you up to date on…what’s new. Very creative, we know. 😉

You can make your profile a little more ~uNiQuE~ with brand new avatars to choose from.

Android fingerprint scannerAndroid users: You can use your fingerprint scanner to log in now! (If your phone has one, of course.)

And we’re not done yet. This is just the first of a few big updates we have planned for you. We are listening and want to make Positive Peers the best possible experience for you.
